2017 Workforce Summit has great turnout


The 2017 Newton County Workforce Summit, organized by Grow Neosho Economic Development, brought together more than 100 business leaders, educators, state and local officials from all over the Newton County Area and beyond.

The purpose of the Summit was to highlight some of the exciting Economic Development works that are going on in our area and to also discuss some major changes that are happening in Newton County when it comes to workforce and workforce development.

Newton County will soon achieve recertification as a Workready Community and achieving the Certified Work Ready Community (CWRC) designation is an important milestone for economic and workforce development in our community. It means the community is integrated into a new way of doing things and links education and workforce, aligns to economic development and matches employers to jobs.
