Economic Development for the Neosho Area

An Update from Missouri Partnership

From the desk of Subash Alias
Good morning,

Missouri has always been a great place to invest, but in recent years people have been working even harder to make our state THE place to invest for businesses. In 2020, our corporate tax rate drops to 4%, making us the second lowest in the country among states who collect corporate income tax. Our Department of Economic Development, under the leadership of Director Rob Dixon, has reorganized and streamlined in order to provide companies with a highly efficient service oriented system and customized training program (called Missouri One Start), while striving for the goal of being the best in the Midwest. We continue to offer competitive and impactful incentives, training programs, and certified sites and work-ready communities.

And Missouri has now received approval from the Missouri Public Service Commission to offer a 40% discount on base electric rates for up to five years. It’s available across the entire state as Ameren, Kansas City Power and Light, and Liberty Utilities all offer this new incentive and, according to Ameren, this is one of the most aggressive energy incentives in the nation and represents a step change on how Missouri competes.

Should you be working on a project that has heavy electric needs as part of the expansion requirements, we would be happy to spend time to explain the program and the benefits . There’s a lot happening in Missouri, and we would like to show you how Missouri can be the best place for your next expansion project. You can reach me at either 314-308-1990 or Subash@missouripartnership.com.

Sincerely,

Subash
