Neosho Chamber of Commerce announces business award winners at annual banquet

Neosho area Chamber of Commerce held their 2016 annual banquet on Nov. 17. During the banquet the chamber announced their Nonprofit, Small Business and Large business of the year as well Citizen of the year and most improved business location.
Nominations for the nonprofit category included Neosho Bright Futures, Neosho Freeman Family YMCA and the Neosho City County Library. The Neosho City County Library took for the award for the nonprofit category.
For Small Business of the Year the finalists were Eric Norris State Farm insurance, 114 Coffee, and Free Market Physicians. Dr. Shepard with Free Market Physicians took home the award this year.
Onin staffing, La-Z-Boy Midwest and Walgreens Neosho were the finalists for the Large Business of the year award. La-Z-Boy ultimately took home the award for 2017.
Citizen of the Year went to Reverend James Lowans with teen challenge and most improved business location went to MoJoe’s Coffee.
The event was sponsored by Griffith Motor Co., Freeman Neosho Hospital and Great Southern Bank. The sponsor for the business of the year awards was CJR Red Carpet realtors.
Also, incoming 2017 chamber president, Blake Heirholzer, was sworn in at the banquet by Judge Tim Perigo. The bible for the ceremony was provided by Joyful Journeys in Neosho.
